American-Style Irish Soda Bread For St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is on Saturday this year so I suspect that there’ll be more than the usual green apparel, green rivers, green beer, and shenanigans all over the country, but Joe and I will follow our long-standing tradition of celebrating at home with family and friends and enjoying our own version of corned beef and cabbage.  Last year I made 4-leaf clover rolls, but usually I make a traditional “everyday” kind of Irish soda bread to go with our dinner, so this year I decided to change it up and make an American-style soda bread.  Continue reading “American-Style Irish Soda Bread For St. Patrick’s Day”

Hearty Walnut and Currant Cloverleaf Rolls

I may be Irish only by marriage, but that’s reason enough for me to celebrate St Patrick’s Day because (as I’ve mentioned before) I’ll use any excuse to bake something and to have a party!  We’re hosting dinner for friends and family at our house on Friday, and I’ll wear my special St Patrick’s Day shirt, jewelry, and apron.
